Objectors fail to block Mattel lead paint settlement
A federal judge has approved a class settlement resolving multidistrict litigation involving lead paint in Mattel toys, rejecting claims by objectors that it amounted to a "coupon" recovery contrary to the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005. McDermott Will, Dechert Kick Off New London Pay Push
A group of U.S. firms are gearing up for a round of London associate salary increases, with McDermott Will & Emery and Dechert the first to boost pay rates to keep up with London competition. McDermott Will has brought forward its raises, which were scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, with newly qualified lawyer salaries jumping by 7 percent from $142,394 to $152,565. Meanwhile, Dechert has this month increased its newly qualified rates by around 10 percent to $128,154 to $147,479.Lateral Moves Survey By the Numbers
