A Texas judge has vacated an order that gave preliminary approval to a proposed settlement that was protested by 29 firms involved in other class actions filed after Hyundai Motor America admitted that it overstated horsepower ratings on several of its vehicles. The settlement would have provided coupons to buyers of vehicles with misstated ratings as well as $2 million for the attorneys who negotiated the deal.
