A minor victory for federal prosecutors could reap a much bigger reward for civil litigators in an ongoing legal effort to close the book on the California energy crisis. U.S. Attorney Kevin Ryan's team scored a guilty plea from a natural gas trader who was charged with fabricating sales data to manipulate the energy market.
