A Philadelphia jury has awarded $6.5 million to a union glazer and his wife because the glazer was injured by a fall from a ladder at an allegedly disorderly strip mall construction site. Voce claimed that the site's general contractor, and a subcontractor, had violated workplace safety laws by not guaranteeing general worksite safety, and that he had to place his ladder on top of lumber pieces covering a hole in a littered, unleveled area.
