Schapiro Is Credited With Reversing Course at a Beleaguered SEC

Mary Schapiro, who announced this week she would step down as chairwoman of the SEC on Dec. 14, is credited for bringing new life to the SEC in the wake of the financial crisis. The dispute really isn't over valuables like gold and diamonds that could be recovered from the wreck, maritime lawyer Philip N. Davey said Dec. 3 at a Titanic and the Law seminar sponsored by the University of Houston Law Center.

ABA Gives Roberts 'Well Qualified' Rating

Supreme Court nominee John Roberts got a "well qualified" rating from the American Bar Association on Wednesday, clearing a hurdle in his path to the nation's highest court.
