The Gotham Gangbusters, led by Thomas E. Dewey, were 20 idealistic Depression-era young lawyers fed up with organized crime and rampant corruption. Thurston Greene is the last remaining Gangbuster, but he fondly remembers his days working with Dewey, who went on to serve three terms as the governor of New York. Dewey's influence is still felt today -- many see his method of hiring talented lawyers and turning them loose in the ways of modern crimebusters such as New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer.
