Arizona 9-year-old pleads guilty in shooting death

ST. JOHNS, Ariz. AP - A 9-year-old Arizona boy has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the shooting death of his father's roommate.Two premeditated murder charges for the deaths of the father and the roommate were dropped as part of a plea deal. The boy entered the plea before Apache County Superior Court Judge Michael Roca on Thursday.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. AP - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned down an appeal from Indian tribes that wanted to block expansion of a ski resort on a mountain they consider sacred, but an attorney for some of the tribes said the fight may not be over.The justices said they will not get involved in the dispute between a half-dozen Western tribes and the Arizona Snowbowl ski area north of Flagstaff.
