AMR Reaches Deal With Unions

American Airlines' parent AMR Corp. reached agreements with its unions late Monday for $1.8 billion in annual concessions. The agreements, which call for pilots to give up $660 million in salary and benefits, at least temporarily averted a bankruptcy filing for the Fort Worth, Texas-based company. AMR Chairman and CEO Don Carty said the union and employees showed an "unwavering commitment to the future of the company."
