In Book, Scalia Warns of Decisions Leading to 'Descent Into Social Rancor'

A new book co-authored by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and legal writing expert Bryan Garner accuses judges — including some on the Supreme Court — of loose and unprincipled decisionmaking that has tarnished the reputation of the judiciary. It is the second collaboration between Scalia and Garner, and could become the standard guide for judges and lawyers on how statutes and the Constitution are — or should be — interpreted, at least in the view of the authors.
