Judge Rules For University of California Students in Fee Suit

The University of California owes nearly $34 million to students who sued over fee increases claiming they amounted to a breach of contract, a judge ruled. The case stems from a lawsuit filed by students alleging that the university had promised to keep fees stable during the students' three-year course of study. Mo Kashmiri, one of the original plaintiffs, called the ruling a victory but said he was disappointed the university will appeal. "They're going to waste a lot of money in legal fees," he said.
