Ohio Court Creates Charity Funded by Punitives

The Ohio Supreme Court's December ruling in a bad-faith case against a major health insurer is believed to be the first time a court has ordered the creation of a charity to be funded with punitive damages. The court upheld $30 million of a punitive damage award against Anthem Insurance in a suit over the treatment of a patient who died, and directed the creation of a memorial cancer research fund in the patient's name.

Adobe Updates LiveCycle Policy Server and Launches Document Center

Battle of the bands, round two

The event formerly known has "Lawyer-Palooza" may have been rechristened LawJam 2011, but the June 18 show promises to live up to last year's artistic success.The Atlanta Bar Foundation again will host the battle of the Atlanta lawyers' bands at Variety Playhouse.
