Court's Budget �Deal' Just a Big Misunderstanding

A deal on the court budget announced with fanfare last week is apparently no deal at all, say state court leaders who are distancing themselves from the original announcement. On Friday, a press release from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's office hailed an �agreement on a new budget plan for trial court funding,� that added back more than $100 million to the court budget. But court leaders now say they never intended to hand control over court employees to the state in exchange for a bigger slice of the pie.
