Defendants Seek Dismissal of KPMG Case due to Alleged Government Misconduct

Attorneys for 16 former partners at accounting firm KPMG have asked a federal judge to dismiss criminal tax fraud charges against them. Defendants claim the indictment should be dismissed with prejudice because of a "pattern of misconduct" by the government and "because no other remedy would restore the status quo." Attorneys for the former partners say their clients have been "inundated" with documents and say even a "minimal defense" will run into the "multiple millions of dollars."
