The Coast Guard has suspended its search for Thomas Kirschbaum, an employee benefits partner at Irell & Manella in Los Angeles whose empty sailboat washed ashore on a Venice, Calif., beach on Sunday. Kirschbaum had been returning from a race to Santa Catalina Island. The Los Angeles Times reports that authorities called off the search after covering 2,000 square miles.
