Wiccan Lawsuit May Spell Toil, Taxes and Trouble for Fla. Justices
The Florida Supreme Court has agreed to hear a Wiccan group's constitutional challenge to a Florida law exempting sales taxes on religious books. The lower appellate court opinion reveals the nonprofit group was exempted from paying the tax on copies of the Bible and the Quran, but forced to pay it on the Satanic Bible and the Witches Bible. Duane Morris' Construction Practice Picks Up Three Reed Smith Partners
In an effort to expand its construction litigation practice firmwide, Duane Morris has added three partners to the group in its Pittsburgh office. John Tedder joined most recently, following partners Albert Bates Jr. and Edward Gentilcore, who made the move in April.
