Judge May Allow Proof of Earlier Suit Against Weil Gotshal

The judge overseeing the malpractice trial involving Weil, Gotshal & Manges and two of its partners is considering letting the jury hear about another suit against the firm filed by the pop singer Michael Bolton. Steele Allows Medco Merger Vote to Take Place; Shareholders Approve the Union

Delaware Chancery Court Vice Chancellor Myron Steele cleared the way last week for Medco Research Inc.'s shareholders to approve King Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s $342 million takeover offer for the maker of heart drugs, despite a bid by the State of Wisconsin Investment Board to block the vote on the stock-for-stock offer.
