Sentencing of Ex-Gemstar CEO Delayed After Judge Questions Plea Deal

The sentencing of former Gemstar-TV Guide chief executive Henry C. Yuen, who is accused in a $248 million fraud case, was delayed Monday after federal Judge John F. Walter said he would reject as too lenient a plea deal that included three years' probation and six months' home detention. Said Walter, "This sentence sends the wrong message to corporate America." The judge continued the matter until Jan. 23.
