Landlord-Attorney Certification Form In Essex Found To Flout Court Rules

For years, Essex County's Special Civil Part has handed out an attorney-certification form that let landlords' counsel flout a court rule meant to protect tenants in summary eviction proceedings. No more. Last Wednesday, court personnel withdrew the form, a day after Superior Court Judge Garry Furnari stated from the bench that it did not comply with court rules, and replaced it with one that does.
