Under the New Jersey Constitution, citizens have a reasonable expectation of privacy in bank records that is sufficiently protected by existing grand jury subpoena procedures; neither a probable cause standard for such subpoenas nor a notice to account holders is constitutionally required; however, while such notice is not constitutionally required, additional protections may be desirable as a matter of policy, and the matter is referred to the Criminal Practice Committee for recommendations.
