In 2005 a Chinese semiconductor company paid a Shanghai-based rival $175 million to settle accusations of trade secrets theft. The two are now back in court in California, with the Shanghai company's counsel from Keker claiming breach of the settlement agreement--and Wilson Sonsini countering that Keker's client is trying to force the Chinese company out of business.

After winning dismissal of a whopping $109 billion class action suit brought by former Wachovia shareholders and then settling related bondholder claims for $627 million, Wachovia parent Wells Fargo and its lawyers at Fried Frank apparently decided not to risk having the shareholders' claims revived on appeal.
