Tell legislators, to support term-limits or leave now

The public is mad as hell at Washington: at the corruption, the underhanded deals, the earmarks, the sense of entitlement that comes with lifetime employment. If we don't want to take it anymore, we can do something about it. We the people of the United States need to make clear to our representatives in Congress, or their challengers, that our vote in November is contingent on what's-his-name's support for term limits.

Pa. Judge Rules Out Punitive Award in Prempro Case

A Pennsylvania judge has ruled that punitive damages may not be assessed against Wyeth following a $1.5 million jury verdict against the company earlier this week. The plaintiffs, a married couple, alleged that use of the hormone drug Prempro led to the woman's breast cancer. The jurors' verdict found Wyeth's conduct to be "malicious, wanton, willful, or oppressive, or showed reckless indifference," but the judge ruled the evidence at trial was insufficient to justify a punitive damage award.

2 More Sentenced in Ernst & Young Tax Shelter Scandal

Two more defendants in the Ernst & Young tax shelter scandal were sentenced to prison Friday. Richard Shapiro, a lawyer and former Ernst & Young partner, is to serve two years and four months, pay $100,000 and perform 160 hours of community service that will include speaking to bar groups and accounting professionals on his experience. Former Ernst & Young partner Brian Vaughn was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison as well as the same special condition of supervised release imposed on Shapiro.
