Good morning and welcome to Supreme Court Brief. Today is the beginning of the two-week March argument session, but the real action is a block away at the Senate's Canon office building. U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has her first day appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Although most SCOTUS aficionados will have eyes peeled on the hearings, we take a brief look at the cases and lawyers capturing the justices' attention this week. At the Lectern: Week 1

The first week of the March argument sitting only has four arguments scheduled, but 13 lawyers will participate. Of the 13 at the lectern, eight are first-timers, and four graduated from Harvard Law School. The issues include arbitration, intervention and international child abductions.
