The Supreme Court has announced the possibility of one or more opinions on Wednesday morning, leading to widespread speculation that the court is prepared to rule in TikTok's challenge to an impending shutdown set to take effect Jan. 19. The court heard oral arguments in the case on Jan. 10, with many observers noting the justices' skepticism of the video-sharing app's arguments against a congressional requirement that it be sold by its Chinese holding company for national security reasons. Absent a court decision striking down the law, 170 million American users will soon lose access to one of their favorite online speech platforms, the company's lawyer argued on Friday.
