The business community is lining up behind a major automaker in a U.S. Supreme Court fight over the test for keeping sealed court documents sealed throughout litigation.
“The plaintiffs’ bar has been using the pre-trial discovery process inappropriately to force the public release of confidential business documents,” said Richard Samp, chief counsel of the pro-business Washington Legal Foundation. “The Supreme Court needs to step in to prevent the wholesale destruction of valuable intellectual property rights.”
