Texas Tech University School of Law student Cole Leonard didn't make the cut to the next round of 100 finalists for a chance to colonize Mars.

Last May, Leonard was among 705 finalists who were in a holding pattern waiting to learn if they would move on to the third round of the Mars One selection process. Leonard said in May that if he moved on to the final list of 24, that he would have had to choose between his lawyerly pursuits or his space exploration ambitions.
