South Texas College of Law will open a new immigration clinic this fall funded in part by a nearly $200,000 grant from the Houston Endowment.

The General Immigration Clinic will train students in immigration law and provide pro bono legal assistance to unaccompanied minors as well as to adults and families.

Catherine Burnett, associate dean at South Texas Law, said the clinic will provide “the nuts and bolts of basic naturalization issues, removals, the traditional sorts of cases than an attorney working in immigration would work.”
