Tax day might be unpleasant, but it was extra bad for some professors and staff at the University of Texas School of Law.

About 11 law professors and three or four staff members learned that someone had used their identities to file fraudulent returns with the Internal Revenue Service, said UT Law spokesman Christopher Roberts.

“There was some tax scam that has been perpetrated here at the law school, but it is not specific to the law school; it's in Austin,” said Roberts, adding that no students were impacted. “It's not unique to us. I think it's an all-too-common scam.”
