Attorneys with experience prosecuting and defending criminal securities matters are questioning what they say is strange wording and surprising allegations in three felony indictments against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

“It makes me wonder how they are going to prove this,” said San Antonio criminal-defense lawyer Cynthia Orr, who defends people facing securities charges.

A Collin County grand jury indicted Paxton on two first-degree felony counts of securities fraud and one third-degree felony count of acting as an investment adviser representative without being registered with the state.
