A visiting judge has found that Williamson County District Attorney Jana Duty should be held in contempt of court.

Judge Doug Shaver found that Duty “intentionally, knowingly and wilfully” acted to violate a gag order, failed to appear in court and disrespected the court with a response email that made “veiled threats.”

The contempt proceeding arose from Duty's conduct in an underlying capital murder case in which 368th District Judge Rick Kennon issued a gag order.
