Derrick Mitchell, a public finance partner in Bracewell & Giuliani in Houston, is OK with being considered a "change agent" at the Houston university.

Derrick Mitchell, a partner in Bracewell & Giuliani in Houston, has been elected chairman of the board of regents of Texas Southern University in Houston.
Mitchell was elected in October to a two-year term as chairman. Earlier this year, Gov. Greg Abbott appointed him to a six-year term on the board.
Mitchell is not a TSU graduate, but said he is willing to commit time and effort to the board and the school.
