These are dark days for 1 SolTech Inc., the company based in the Dallas area that designs, develops and manufactures solar panels and solar modules.
The Texas attorney general's office recently filed an agreed final judgment and permanent injunction that resolves the state's legal action against 1SolTech Inc. and its three principals, Sandra “Sandy” Fardi, Hossein “Zak” Fardi and Ali Enrique Razavi, according to a release issued by the agency. Under the agreed judgment, filed in Travis County District court, the defendants are ordered to cease making misrepresentations on the geographical origin and certifications of their solar panels. 1 SolTech will pay $5.8 million in civil penalties and attorney fees, as well as more than $2.7 million in restitution to affected consumers.
Back in 2013, 1SolTech was hit with a lawsuit by the Texas AG that accused it of misleading consumers concerning its products. [See "Texas AG Offers $7.7M Settlement to Solar Firm over False Claims of Products," Texas Lawyer, Oct. 20, 2015.]
