A former Dallas Symphony Orchestra volunteer may have had reason for hurt feelings after D Magazine published an article implying he was a “party-crasher” who “blustered” his way into society photographs.

But Jason Bloom recently convinced Dallas' Fifth Court of Appeals that the man who allegedly duped his way into Dallas society could not sue the magazine because the rhetorical flourishes used in the article did not amount to defamation.
