Five firms have a piece of an energy deal that creates a combined company valued at $3.8 billion and focused on the STACK play in Oklahoma.

Latham & Watkins represents Silver Run Acquisition Corp. II, which announced definitive agreements on Aug. 16 to merge with Alta Mesa Holdings, which is represented by Haynes and Boone, and Kingfisher Midstream, which turned to Bracewell.

Durham, Jones & Pinegar represents ARM Energy Holdings, which is the operator of Kingfisher's assets and an equity owner, while Kirkland & Ellis represents private equity firm Bayou City Energy, an investor in Alta Mesa and Kingfisher.
