Brian Cathey and Matthew Davis joined Wright & Close. Cathey is a former Texas Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit clerk, offering a unique perspective in a range of legal issues from securities matters to international arbitration. Davis joins the firm from Porter Hedges and was a judicial intern in state and federal appeals and district courts. Davis represents clients in business and commercial litigation involving oil and gas and construction in both state and federal courts.

Joseph Regan and Adam Plumbley joined K&L Gates as partners in the firm's Fort Worth office. Both join the firm's oil, gas and resources practice from Winstead. Regan focuses his practice on various aspects of civil litigation and appellate law with an emphasis on energy and real estate litigation, including eminent domain and real property disputes. Plumbley represents oil and gas producers and utilities clients in energy litigation, eminent domain matters, real property disputes and general commercial litigation.

Nathan Palmer re-joined Thompson & Knight's Austin office as an associate in the firm's trial practice group. Palmer focuses his practice on litigation, appellate, and government and regulatory matters. Palmer left Thompson & Knight in 2016 to serve as law clerk for Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva M. Guzman. Palmer graduated from Harvard Law School in 2015 and is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and a board member of the King Benjamin Fund.
