(L to R) Sepp Zangeneh, Ankur Garg, Nick Transier

Houston intellectual property firm Patterson + Sheridan has opened an office in San Diego, led by associate Ankur Garg and of counsel Nick Transier.

Associate Sepp Zangeneh is also working in the new office, which opened Dec. 1.

Garg and Zangeneh joined the firm in 2016 and have been doing work from home or other offices of the 85-lawyer IP firm. Transier joined Patterson + Sheridan in October, coming from the San Diego office of IP firm EIP.

Firm founder Todd Patterson said Patterson + Sheridan does a lot of work for clients in southern California, and the new office supports that work.

“It's always good to have people on the ground, that they can be over at a meeting at short notice,” Patterson said. “Our philosophy is we like to have people available whenever the client needs us. The same is true for the San Jose office.”

Patterson said the firm's clients in San Diego include telecom and software companies.

In addition to Houston, the firm has offices in Dallas; Greensboro, North Carolina; Shrewsbury, New Jersey, San Diego; San Jose; and Yokohama, Japan.

Transier, the newest hire, did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.
