New Positions
Deborah Repman has been promoted to partner in Caldwell Bodreaux Lefler in Houston. Repman's principal area of practice is regulatory compliance with federal and state law governing the transportation of crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas liquids. She has experience in administrative litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Railroad Commission of Texas and the California Public Utility Commission.
Courtney Ervin has joined Hicks Thomas in Houston as a partner. She formerly was a partner in Andrews Kurth Kenyon. Her practice focuses on high-stakes litigation in state and federal courts and on arbitration.
Michelle Snedden has been promoted to an equity partner in Shackelford Bowen McKinley & Norton in Dallas. Stephen Shellenberger has been promoted to a nonequity partner in the firm. Snedden represents real estate owners and affordable housing developers in transactional matters involving, among other things, low-income housing credits and tax-exempt bonds. Shellenberger's practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, as well as on family law, wills, trusts and probate matters, personal injury and consumer protection issues.
Frank Carroll III and Mark Rabe have been promoted to shareholders in Texas-based Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Haley. Carroll is an appellate and trial lawyer in Houston, and Rabe is an Austin litigator.
New shareholders in Winstead's Dallas office are: Clint Bodien, finance and banking; Cole Gearhart, Grant Grubich and Tobin Swope, real estate development and investments; Ehren Hartz, corporate, commercial transactions and outsourcing; and Ben Leffler, real estate finance. Winstead's new shareholders in other Texas offices are: Sean Davis, business restructuring/bankruptcy, Houston; Stephen Taylor, business litigation, Fort Worth; and Ryan Valenza, corporate securities and mergers and acquisitions, Austin.
Joseph “Joe” Bain has joined Jones Walker as a partner in Houston. A member of the firm's business and commercial litigation practice group, Bain focuses on bankruptcy, business restructuring, workouts and creditors' rights litigation.
Appointed
Dawn M. Wright, a Dallas partner in Thompson & Knight, has joined the board of directors for the Arts Community Alliance, a nonprofit arts organization that supports excellence and impact in the arts though grant-making, capacity building and thought leadership. Wright is the chair of Thompson & Knight's industry group for torts, products liability, transportation, chemicals and manufacturing.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
