Christopher M. Staine has been promoted to the position of director in Crowe & Dunlevy's recently opened Dallas office. He is a member of the firm's bankruptcy and creditor's rights, energy, environment and natural resources litigation and trial practice groups and is also active in its diversity and recruiting committees.
New Positions
Robin G. Bechtold has joined Munck Wilson Mandala in Dallas as senior counsel in the firm's complex litigation/dispute resolution practice. Bechtold represents clients in civil litigation, breach-of-contract disputes, violation of trust and fiduciary duties, misappropriation of trade secrets and noncompetitive clauses, among other matters.
Awards
Israel Reyna, attorney and branch manager of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, will receive the James B. Sales Boots on the Ground Award from the Texas Access to Justice Commission, and David G. Hall, retiring executive director of TRLA, will receive the Emily C. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award when the commission hosts the Champions of Justice Gala Benefiting Veterans on April 25 in the AT&T Education and Conference Center in Austin. The Boots on the Ground Award recognizes a legal aid or pro bono attorney who gives tirelessly of his or her time to provide civil legal services to low-income Texans. Reyna has helped meet the legal needs of his Laredo community for almost four decades and also educated clients and residents so that they can advocate for themselves. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an attorney who has spent his or her career supporting legal aid services for those who cannot afford to hire an attorney. Under Hall's guidance, TRLA has become legendary for its fearless pursuit of justice for those who are among the most impoverished and oppressed Texans. The State Bar of Texas is co-sponsor of the gala, which raises funds to provide civil legal aid for low-income Texas veterans.
Honors
Sakina Rasheed Foster and Janice V. Sharry, Dallas partners in Haynes and Boone, and Stephen M. Pezanosky, a partner in the firm's Fort Worth office, have been selected as fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation. Other Haynes and Boone attorneys selected for this honor are Sharon M. Cooper, a counsel in Fort Worth, Wolf McGavran and Arsalan Muhammad, associates in Houston.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
