The Austin-based firm beefed up its employment law expertise with a partner in Dallas and an associate in Houston.

Photo: Roschetzky Photography/Shutterstock.com McGinnis Lochridge new Dallas office Haynes and Boone McGinnis Lochridge, like other Texas regional firms, has responded to market pressures created by mergers and an influx of large, out-of-state firms by adding lawyers and opening new offices in Texas. In February, the firm raided Austin's Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody, hiring 10 lawyers who do corporate, transactional, estate planning and tax work. In May, the it hired Kevin Haney as a partner and opened an office in Decatur, which is located north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Haney represents clients in the electric energy industry and also does real estate, corporate and business transactions.

The complaint, filed Sept. 30 in New York Southern District Court by the Securities and Exchange Commission, accuses the defendants of using consulting agreements, attorney opinion letters and other mechanisms to skirt regulations limiting stock sales by affiliate companies and allowing the defendants to unlawfully profit from sales of Enzolytics stock.
