Billy Edwards, a partner in the Edwards Law Firm in Corpus Christi and counsel with the Davis Law Firm in San Antonio, has been inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an honor limited to 500 active lawyers in the United States. Edwards has a personal injury practice representing plaintiffs.
Craig A. Haynes, a trial partner in Thompson & Knight's Dallas office, has been selected as a master of the Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Courts for which he served as a member from 1993-1997.
New Positions
Ted D. Meyer has joined Blank Rome as a partner in its labor and employment practice group in Houston. With more than two decades of experience, Meyer represents large and small employers in litigation, administrative proceedings and in defense of large class and collective actions. James T. Grogan has joined the firm's Houston office as a partner in the finance, restructuring and bankruptcy group. Grogan focuses on Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
Christine Edwards has joined the Houston office of Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard as of counsel. Edwards handles personal and commercial first-party claims, automobile cases involving uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage issues and bad faith litigation.
Andrew “Drew” Robertson has joined the Dallas office of Kane Russell Coleman Logan as a litigation associate. He previously was a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings of the Northern District of Texas. At KRCL, Robertson represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters.
Morgan Muñoz has joined Stibbs & Co. in Spring as an associate in the firm's litigation section. She focuses her practice on oil and energy.
Diane Tran is a new associate in the Austin office of Thompson & Knight in the firm's government and regulatory practice. New Thompson & Knight associates in the firm's Dallas office include Christopher Bailey, bankruptcy and restructuring; Mark Bonin II and Timothy J. Johnston, corporate securities; Connor R. Bourland and Austin P. Smith, trial; Taylor N. Kara and Sarah M. Lehman, real estate and banking; Skyler K. Sikes, oil and gas; Catherine Reynolds, intellectual property; and Lauren Timmons, employment and labor. New associates joining the firm in Houston include Caitlin E. Gernert, trial; Brooke Alger and Alexander Witschey, corporate and securities.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
