Clark Hill Strasburger and its Dallas member Dan Butcher were recently honored with the “Compass Award” by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity for their support of career advancement of diverse attorneys within the law firm.

Butcher, who was the longtime managing partner of Strasburger & Price until the Dallas firm merged with Detroit's Clark Hill earlier this year, is currently a member of Clark Hill's executive committee.

The Compass Award recognizes LCLD members who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to creating a diverse U.S. legal profession. To qualify, organizations must actively participate in programs designed to attract and inspire diverse talent in their firms, including participating in the organization's signature programs.

Clark Hill's core diversity initiatives focused on recruitment, retention, advancement and client development for ethnically diverse attorneys; a program dedicated to removing gender-based obstacles for attorneys on a path to partnership; and a program that elevates and supports LGBTQ lawyers.

This is the first year LCLD has offered the Compass Award.

“We are delighted to be a first-ever Compass Award winner,” Butcher said. “Clark Hill Strasburger is recognized for its celebration of the unique differences and strengths that each attorney brings to our firm, our clients and our communities. We genuinely value and affirm diversity in all of its forms, and we congratulate our Diversity and Inclusion Committee for their efforts that led to this well-deserved recognition from LCLD.”
