Dawn Holiday, formerly with Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, has joined Jackson Walker in Houston as a partner in the firm's trial and appellate litigation practice.

Holiday, who practiced at Steptoe for three years, said Jackson Walker will provide her with a large client base and other resources to build her practice.

“I was looking for a firm that had some strong roots in Texas. I was previously part of a national firm, and just felt that some of the resources that I needed to grow my business weren't there,” she said.

All of Jackson Walker's offices are in Texas.

Holiday handles employment litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury, professional liability, workers' compensation, complex civil litigation, and general liability defense.

Bruce Ruzinsky, chairman of Jackson Walker's trial and appellate litigation practice in Houston, said he has seen Holiday's strong work ethic firsthand.

“She brings an important perspective to the team and a world of experience for our clients,” said Ruzinsky, who worked with Holiday on the Houston Bar Association's Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession Committee.

While at Steptoe, Holiday was a leader of the firm's Texas litigation practice.

Before joining Steptoe's office in The Woodlands, Holiday practiced at Texas litigation firm Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey in Houston.
