A new lawsuit between a prominent San Antonio litigator—who's playing a leading role in opioid litigation in Texas—and three employees of his law firm is shrouded in secrecy because the plaintiff has won a sealing order.

But it's clear that Martin Phipps, founder and managing partner in Phipps Anderson Deacon, has sued his employees or ex-employees, Enrique Casillas, Rebecca Maha and Kimberly Knox, "to secure the immediate return of its personal property and proprietary business information," according to a public notice on the motion to seal court records.

The plaintiff, Martin Phipps PLLC, on Thursday secured temporary restraining orders against the three defendants, according to the court docket, although it's not clear what the defendants are restrained from doing, as the Bexar County District Clerk's office said it can't release any records in the sealed case.
