A Harris County jury returned a $3.7 million verdict Dec. 13, finding Litigation & Records Services (LRS)—a litigation services company formed by Houston plaintiffs firms Lee Murphy Law Firm and Clark, Love & Hutson—failed to comply with an agreement with another Texas litigation services company, QTAT BPO Solutions.
QTAT sued LRS in 2015, alleging that LRS had "significantly underpaid" QTAT for doing medical reviews and related work in 2012 and 2013.
281st District Judge Christine Weems oversaw the trial, in which the jury also found that LRS and defendant James Lee, but not his firm Lee Murphy Law Firm, committed fraud against QTAT.
