A Maverick County judge was sanctioned after endorsing his brother's political campaign, according to a public warning released Tuesday by the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct.
Judge David Saucedo of Eagle Pass, received the warning for using Facebook to endorse his brother's candidacy for the local school board. Saucedo, who is not a lawyer, is a constitutional county judge who presides over commissioners court and handles some low-level legal matters.
Saucedo's numerous Facebook posts contained his brother's political ads, photos of his brother block walking and a news article about his brother's candidacy announcement. When the judicial conduct commission inquired about these posts, Saucedo said that his staff and supporters published them, but that he would accept full responsibility.
