The year brought 12 new federal judges to Texas to fill vacancies left by incumbent judges who retired or took senior status. The lion's share went to the Northern District of Texas, which welcomed five new judges. And June was the biggest month for turnover, bringing six new U.S. District judges within just two days. The group of new federal judges include three from racial minority groups and one woman.
