It's election season, and Texas Lawyer is publishing Q&As with candidates in contested races for district and appellate court benches in the Lone Star State. Early voting runs from Feb. 18 to Feb. 28, and election day is March 3.

Here are candidates running in the contested primary race for Lubbock County's 140th District Court.


140th District Court

In the Republican primary, Assistant District Attorney Tom Brummett, Douglas H. Freitag, Ryan C. Gentry of McGowan & McGowan in Lubbock and criminal defense attorney Robert Sullivan are competing in the race for the 140th District Court in Lubbock. No one is running for the bench in the Democratic primary.
