In the Democratic Primary, criminal-defense attorney Alison Grinter Allen, former judge Teresa Jan Hawthorne and criminal-defense lawyer Audra Ladawn Riley are competing in the race for Dallas County Criminal District Judge No. 3. No one is running in the Republican Primary for the bench, so the winner of the Democratic race is set to become judge.
