Five district court judges in Houston have been ousted from their benches by female challengers in the Democratic Primary election.
Rather than a partisan sweep, it's a different sort of sweep: Males being voted out of office as voters picked women to become candidates in the November general election.
Voters picked female candidates who were challenging incumbent Houston judges Larry Weiman, Randy Roll, Daryl Moore, Steven Kirkland and George Powell.
Here are the rest of the election results for Harris County benches.

First Court of Appeals
Justice, Place 3
Incumbent Republican Place 3 Justice Russell Lloyd, unopposed, will compete in November against Democratic candidate Veronica Rivas-Molloy.
Democratic primary results:
- Rivas-Molloy – 51%
- Jim Sharp – 20%
- Dinesh Singhal – 29%
Justice, Place 5
Democratic candidate Amparo Monique Guerra has won her primary, but it's still not clear who she will compete against in November. The Republican race for the seat must head to a runoff election between candidates Terry Adams and James Lombardino.
Democratic primary results:
- Guerra – 67%
- Tim Hootman – 33%
Republican primary results:
- Adams – 32%
- Lombardino – 29%
- Chad Bridges – 25%
- Levi J. Benton – 14%
14th Court of Appeals
Chief Justice
Republican candidate Tracy Elizabeth Christopher, current Justice for Place 9 who ran unopposed in her primary for the chief justice position, will compete in November against Democratic candidate Jane Robinson, who won her primary for the seat.
Democratic primary results:
- Robinson – 81%
- Jim Evans – 19%
Justice, Place 7
Because the Democratic race for the seat is going to a runoff election between candidates Tamika "Tami" Craft and Cheri Thomas, it's not yet clear who will compete against Republican incumbent Justice Ken Wise, who was unopposed.
Democratic primary results:
- Craft – 39%
- Thomas – 26%
- Wally Kronzer – 13%
- Dominic J. Merino – 10%
- Lennon C. Wright – 7%
- V.R. Faulkner – 5%
District Courts
61st District Court
Two unopposed candidates ran in the party primaries for this bench, and now they'll compete against each other in November: Incumbent Judge Fredericka Phillips is the Democratic candidate and challenger Erin Elizabeth Lunceford is the Republican candidate.
80th District Court
In the Democratic primary, incumbent Judge Larry Weiman was ousted from his bench by challenger Jeralynn Manor. Manor will compete in November against uncontested Republican candidate Sharon Hemphill.
Democratic primary results:
- Manor – 58%
- Weiman – 42%
125th District Court
Incumbent Judge Kyle Carter, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary, has won another term. No one is challenging him on the Republican side in November.
127th District Court
Incumbent Judge R.K. Sandill, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary, will go on to compete in November against Republican candidate Nile Copeland, also unopposed.
129th District Court
Incumbent Judge Michael Gomez, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary, will compete against unopposed Republican candidate Will Archer in November.
151st District Court
Judge Mike Engelhart, the incumbent who wasn't challenged in the Democratic primary, has won reelection to his bench. He's unopposed in the November general election.
152nd District Court
Incumbent Judge Robert K. Schaffer, unopposed in both the Democratic primary and the November general election, has won another term in office.
164th District Court
Because the Democratic race is headed to a runoff between incumbent Judge Alexandra Smoots-Thomas and challenger Cheryl Elliott Thornton, it's not yet clear who will compete in November against Republican candidate Michael Landrum, who was unopposed.
Democratic primary results:
- Thornton – 41%
- Smoots-Thomas – 31%
- Grant J. Harvey – 28%
165th District Court
Unopposed Republican candidate Bruce Bain will compete against Democratic primary winner Ursula A. Hall in the November election.
Democratic primary results:
- Hall – 56%
- Megan Daic – 30%
- Jimmie L. Brown Jr. – 15%
174th District Court
Incumbent Judge Hazel B. Jones, unopposed in the Democratic primary, has won another term in office, as she is also unchallenged in the November election.
176th District Court
Incumbent Judge Nikita "Niki" Harmon has won reelection after winning the Democratic primary, as there is no candidate running against her on the Republican side in November.
Democratic primary results:
- Harmon – 74%
- Bryan Acklin – 26%
177th District Court
Incumbent Judge Robert Johnson, unopposed in the Democratic Primary and the November general election, has won another term in office.
178th District Judge
Incumbent Judge Kelli Johnson, unopposed in the Democratic primary, has won reelection, as she's also unopposed by any Republican challenger in November.
179th District Court
Incumbent Judge Randy Roll will be off the bench because he lost the Democratic primary to challenger Ana Martinez. No one is running on the Republican side in November.
Democratic primary results:
- Martinez – 79%
- Roll – 21%
215th District Court
Incumbent Judge Elaine Palmer, unopposed in the Democratic primary, will go on to compete in November against unopposed Republican challenger Fred Shuchart.
333rd District Court
Another male incumbent judge who lost reelection is Daryl Moore, who was ousted in the Democratic primary by challenger Brittanye Morris. No one is running on the Republican side in November.
Democratic primary results:
- Morris – 59%
- Moore – 41%
334th District Court
Incumbent Judge Steven Kirkland will be out of a job after being defeated in the Democratic primary by Dawn Deshea Rogers. Rogers will go on to compete in November against Republican candidate Dan Lemkuil, who was unopposed in his primary.
- Rogers – 53%
- Kirkland – 47%
337th District Court
In a four-way race in the Democratic primary, Colleen Gaido has won the nomination. She'll become the next judge of the bench, as there is no candidate running on the Republican side in November.
Democratic primary results:
- Gaido – 59%
- John A. Clark – 17%
- David C. Vuong – 12%
- Brennen Dunn – 11%
338th District Court
Incumbent Judge Ramona Franklin has won reelection in her uncontested race in the Democratic primary. There is no Republican candidate opposing her in November.
339th District Court
The Democratic primary race will head to a runoff between top two vote-getters Candance White and Te'iva Bell. Whoever wins the runoff will compete in November against unopposed Republican incumbent Judge Jesse McClure.
Democratic primary results:
- Bell – 44%
- White – 36%
- Dennis Powell – 19%
351st District Court
Republican candidate Arlene Hecht, who was unopposed, will compete against Democratic candidate Natalia "Nata" Cornelio, who ousted the incumbent judge in her primary.
Democratic primary results:
- Natalia "Nata" Cornelio – 62%
- George Powell (incumbent) – 38%
507th District Court
Incumbent Judge Julia Maldonado won a three-way race in the Democratic primary to become her party's candidate yet again. She'll face off in November against unopposed Republican challenger Alyssa Lemkuil.
Democratic primary results:
- Maldonado – 60%
- CC "Sonny" Phillips – 23%
- Robert S. Morales – 17%

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
