Two Bexar County district court judges were ousted in their party primaries after they lost their races to Democratic challengers.
Incumbent jurists—37th District Judge Michael Mery and 386th District Judge Arcelia Treviño—lost their primary races.
Here's how other judicial elections in Bexar County turned out, based on tallies from the Texas Secretary of State's Office.

Fourth Court of Appeals
Chief Justice
In the November election, the Democratic candidate will be Rebeca Martinez, who will compete against Republican contender Renee Yanta. Both were unopposed in their primaries.
Bexar County District Courts
37th District Court
Nicole Garza has won the Democratic Primary, ousting the incumbent judge, and will now face off against Republican candidate Joseph P. Appelt, who was unopposed in his primary.
Democratic Primary results:
- Garza – 71%
- Michael Mery (incumbent) — 29%
57th District Court
Incumbent Judge Antonia "Toni" Arteaga, who was unopposed in the Democratic Primary, has won reelection. There is no Republican candidate running against her in the November election.
73rd District Court
Incumbent Judge David A. Canales will serve another term in office. He was unopposed in the Democratic Primary, and there is no Republican candidate running against him in November.
131st District Court
Judge Norma Gonzales has won reelection to her bench after running unopposed in the Democratic Primary and not facing a Republican candidate in the November election.
166th District Court
Judge Laura Salinas will see another term after running unopposed in the Democratic Primary. She's not facing a Republican contender in November.
175th District Court
Unopposed Democratic incumbent Judge Catherine Torres-Stahl has won reelection. She's not facing a Republican candidate in November.
379th District Court
Judge Ron Rangel, who didn't have an opponent in the Democratic Primary, has won reelection since no one is competing for his seat on the Republican side in November.
386th District Court
Jacqueline "Jackie" Valdés has won the Democratic Primary, beating the incumbent judge in the process, and will now compete in November against Republican candidate Daphne Previti Austin, who was unopposed in her primary.
Democratic Primary results:
- Valdés — 60%
- Arcelia Treviño (incumbent) — 40%
399th District Court
Incumbent Judge Frank J. Castro won the Democratic Primary for his bench, and now will face off against Republican challenger Walden Shelton, who was unopposed in his primary.
Democratic Primary results:
- Castro — 56%
- Gabe Quintanilla — 44%
407th District Court
The Democratic candidate will be Tina Torres after she won her primary race. Torres will face off against Republican candidate Stephani Walsh, who was unopposed, in November.
Democratic Primary results:
- Torres — 66%
- Maribel Cruz — 34%
408th District Court
Incumbent Judge Angelica Jimenez has won reelection to her bench after running unopposed in the Democratic Primary. She is not facing a Republican contender in November.
438th District Court
Judge Rosie Alvarado won another term after facing no challenger in the Democratic Primary. No one has filed to run in November on the Republican side.
