With the current chief justice not seeking reelection, the race for the top spot on the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio is set up between a current justice and a local solo practitioner, who's a former judge.
Justice Rebeca Martinez, who holds the Place 7 justice seat, is the Democratic candidate competing against Republican candidate Renée Yanta, who used to preside over the 150th District Court.
